2:56 PM: A man fatally shot at a lookout point atop Twin Peaks in San Francisco early this morning has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as Luis Venegas.

Venegas, 23, was shot at about 3:20 a.m. in a parking lot at Christmas Tree Point, a vista point that looks out on downtown San Francisco, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

Venegas, a San Mateo resident, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was with a group of friends at the lookout point, and there was also another group nearby in the parking lot, Andraychak said.
