xmastree_lg.jpgHo ho ho from the Richmond District,

Santa is a busy bee in the coming week over here on the west side!

Tonight he’ll be lighting the official Christmas Tree, aka the 100 ft. Monterey Cypress tree, at McClaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park at 5pm. Stop by to ooh and aah at the pretty lights, take a train ride, and say hi to St. Nick.

Santa will be setting up his village at St. Monica School on Sunday. Join him for breakfast, a little shopping, plus games and activities for the kids.

There’s no rest for Santa this time of year! He’ll pop up again at Angelina’s Cafe & Deli next Wednesday. It’s a great chance for kids to come out and tell Santa all their holiday wishes, plus there’s a magic show from Professor Salamini and cookie decorating.

The Academy of Sciences released their official holiday e-card this year starring Claude the albino alligator. The card is free to send and you can include a free e-gift along with it, including a new, catchy holiday tune from The Morning Benders.

And the clock is ticking on Richmond District Supervisor Eric Mar’s upcoming appearance on the Daily Show. Word came late last week that he was interviewed by the show about the “Happy Meal Ban” ordinance he ushered through the Board of Supervisors.

Happy Holidays to everyone!
