shooting_nighttime.jpg12/29 9:42 AM: A shooting Tuesday night in San Francisco’s Bayview District that left an 18-year-old man dead may have been the result of gang violence, police said today.

The victim was identified by the medical examiner’s office today as Maurice Williamson, of San Francisco.

Police responded to the 200 block of Cashmere Street at about 7:45 p.m. and found Williams outside, a police spokesman said Tuesday night. He had been shot in the head.

Williamson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police spokesman Lt. Troy Dangerfield said today that investigators believe the killing may have been gang-related.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect description was available.

Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text TIP411.

The shooting is San Francisco’s 49th homicide this year.

12/28 10:49 PM: A man was fatally shot in the head tonight near San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

Police responded at about 7:45 p.m. to reports of a gunshot victim in the 200 block of Cashmere Street, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Officers found the victim, described only as a black man in his 20s, outside. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and pronounced dead at the scene, Esparza said.

No arrests had been made tonight, and a suspect description was not available, he said.
It was not known tonight if the killing was gang related.
