sfpd_squad.jpgA San Francisco police officer suffered minor injuries in a crash this morning in the city’s Western Addition neighborhood, police said.

The crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Steiner Street and Geary Boulevard, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The male officer was driving north on Steiner Street when he was T-boned by another vehicle at Geary Boulevard, Esparza said.

The officer, whose patrol car was struck on the driver’s side, was taken to a hospital, Esparza said.

The other driver, also a male, was uninjured and stopped at the scene, according to Esparza. He was not arrested.

Esparza said a preliminary investigation indicated the officer had a green light. He said there is no evidence alcohol was a factor in the crash.

“It’s just being investigated as a traffic collision,” he said.
