I got my wish! Someone (in this case Bay City News’ Saul Sugarman) did take a picture of our Mayor (and Lt. Give hopeful) Gavin Newsom as he dropped, covered, and held at Richmond District Alamo Elementary School during Thursday’s Great California ShakeOut earthquake preparedness event.

“I’m a little taller than I was since I was in fourth grade,…it’s tougher now getting under a small little desk with seven kids” Newsom said at the drill, where he was, says the Chron, greeted like a god. Maybe that height is why the best he could do was sort of flop next to that admittedly super teeny desk.

On the floor in the morning, shaking hands with Obama in the afternoon. What a life!
