A public-private partnership to strengthen business ties between San Francisco and China has added a second office in China, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s office announced today.

With offices already in San Francisco and Shanghai, the program, ChinaSF, added an office in Beijing, the mayor’s office said.

“ChinaSF’s business presence in Beijing will truly leverage China’s growing market and innovation for San Francisco’s economy,” Newsom said in a statement.

ChinaSF is an economic development initiative begun by the city of San Francisco and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, according to the group’s website.

The group helped expand 10 Chinese companies to San Francisco between 2008 and 2010, the mayor’s office said.

The Beijing office is being supported by the Hina Group, a China-based investment banking and private equity firm, according to the mayor’s office.
