a shooting suspect in Visitacion Valley’s Sunnydale public housing projects, and have recovered a gun and narcotics, a police spokesman said.

At about 8:10 a.m., officers on patrol saw a male suspect shooting a gun near the complex in the 200 block of Blythedale Avenue and tried to apprehend him, police Sgt. Troy Dangerfield said.

The suspect fled and has still not been found as officers continued to scour the complex at 10 a.m.

Police did find a gun and drugs in the area of the shooting, but they have not confirmed the items are related to the incident, Dangerfield said.

The suspect was not shooting at the officers, and no one was injured by the gunshots, according to Dangerfield.

8:57 AM: San Francisco police are searching this morning for a suspect that officers saw shooting a firearm near the Sunnydale public housing complex in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

At about 8:10 a.m., officers saw a male suspect shooting a gun in the 200 block of Blythedale Avenue and tried to apprehend him, police Sgt. Troy Dangerfield said.

The suspect fled and has not been found. More officers responded and are “doing a systematic search of the area to locate that suspect,” Dangerfield said.

The suspect was not shooting at the officers, and no one was injured by the gunshots, he said.

The suspect had not been arrested as of 8:45 a.m., according to Dangerfield.
