The fatal shooting was reported at about 8:20 p.m. Friday in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood.

The caller reported gunshots and a shooting victim in the first block of Brookdale Avenue, in the area of the Sunnydale housing projects.

Officers responded and found a 37-year-old man who had been shot, Esparza said. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he later died.

Police have not made any arrests in the case and have not determined the motive for the shooting.

Another shooting was reported at about 1:20 p.m. today near Third Street and McKinnon Avenue in the city’s Bayview District, Esparza said.

The victim in that case was a man in his 20s who was driven to San Francisco General Hospital. He is expected to survive his wounds.
