muni_generic.jpgSeveral Bay Area public transportation providers will operate on a Sunday schedule for the Labor Day holiday.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will mostly run on a Sunday schedule.

The 76 Marin Headlands route will not be in service. The following Muni routes that usually operate on weekdays only will not be in service:

1AX, 1BX, 8AX, 8BX, 14X, 28L, 31AX, 31BX, 38AX, 38BX, 38L, 41, 80X, 81X, 82X,
88.

Caltrain will be on a Sunday schedule and operate 28 trains between San Francisco and San Jose. A shuttle bus will take passengers between the Tamien and San Jose Diridon stations. No trains will travel to Gillroy.

All BART trains will run on a Sunday schedule beginning at 8 a.m. Monday is a BART parking holiday so parking permit and fee requirements will not be enforced in station parking facilities.

BART will also make longer trains available to the Oakland A’s game on Monday.

All AC Transit Local and Transbay lines will operate on a Sunday schedule. The general office and customer service office will be closed.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will operate buses and light rail on a Sunday schedule. Highway 17 Express and MST 55 will also run on a Sunday schedule.

ACE trains and shuttles and the Dumbarton Express will not be in service.

The number of Californians expected to travel during the Labor Day weekend is expected to increase 11 percent compared to last year, according to a new survey from AAA Northern California. Approximately 170,000 residents are expected to travel by rail, buses and watercraft, a 7.9 percent increase from 2009, according to the survey.
