Wednesday night, after a federal judge overturned California’s statewide initiative banning same-sex marriage, the Appeal’s Chris Roberts headed down to the celebratory rally in San Francisco’s Castro District, followed by a march down Market Street to City Hall to take the pictures you see above.

“How nice it was to be surrounded by happy people carrying rainbow flags for once” Roberts editorialized.
