shooting_nighttime.jpgA 21-year-old woman was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after being shot several times in San Francisco’s Diamond Heights neighborhood, police said.

The woman had been walking in the 5300 block of Diamond Heights Boulevard at about 3 p.m. when a green four-door Lexus pulled up and a man got out and shot her in the torso and legs, police spokesman Sgt. Troy Dangerfield said.

The man then got back in the car and left, Dangerfield said.

The woman’s injuries were described as life-threatening. An update on her condition was not immediately available today.

The vehicle was later recovered nearby, but the suspect, described as a black man in his 20s, was not found, he said.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, Dangerfield said.
