muni_driver.jpgTwo people were injured when a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus and a vehicle collided in the city’s Richmond District overnight, a Muni spokeswoman said today.

The crash was reported at about midnight near the intersection of Balboa Street and 36th Avenue, Muni spokeswoman Kristen Holland said.

The crash involved a 31-Balboa bus and a car. A passenger on the bus and someone in the car were injured, Holland said. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, she said.

Holland said she does not know how many passengers were on the bus when it crashed, but said “there wouldn’t be a lot of people on the bus at that hour.”

The scene was cleared by 1 a.m., she said.

The bus driver was tested for drugs and alcohol and placed on non-driving status while the crash is investigated, as is standard Muni procedure.
