Four men were shot, one fatally, in separate incidents during a violent weekend in San Francisco, police said.
On Friday night, a 22-year-old man was injured in a drive-by shooting in the city’s South of Market district, police said. The shooting happened at about 8:45 p.m. at Sixth and Natoma streets.
The suspect, a man riding in a white, older-model Lincoln sedan, escaped and the victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
On Saturday morning at about 2:10 a.m., a 49-year-old man was shot in the leg while pumping gas at a station at Third Street and Evans Avenue in the city’s Bayview District, police said. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
About an hour later, several blocks away, a 29-year old man died after being shot in the head near the basketball courts at Middle Point and West Point roads, police said.
The victim was identified by the medical examiner’s office as Lacey Edwards, of San Francisco.
Police said between three and five male suspects were seen running from the scene of that shooting.
On Sunday morning, also in the Bayview District, a 26-year-old man was hit in the leg by gunfire at Harbor and Northridge roads, according to police.
The man, who showed up at San Francisco General Hospital at about 3:30 a.m., told police he was walking on Harbor Road when three unknown suspects approached and asked his name. Then one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him, the man said.
In a fifth shooting, reported Friday night in the Mission District, a 68-year-old woman’s birthday party at a home in the 2900 block of Harrison Street was interrupted by gunfire.
Police said someone fired into the home at about 9 p.m.
No injuries were reported, but six shell casings were recovered a bullet fragment was found on the carpet inside, police said.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
