l_9632a4e9bd204e0f80246c0960fd5a9d.jpgIt’s just about summertime again, and if you’re looking for something to put on a Hippie Hill playlist that won’t make you go all Cow Palace (if you catch my drift), then you’ve come to the right place.

Colorado band Candy Claws’ “Sunbeam Show” is a trippy (but not in the creepy way) track off their forthcoming release, Hidden Lands, which they say on their MySpace is “A musical companion to Richard M. Ketchum’s book, ‘The Secret Life of the Forest‘” if that gives you some idea of what it sounds like. The whispery vocals are more sound than lyric, and they float placidly over towering strings and horns and whatever those carnival organ things are that they use on Pet Sounds. It’s a real, journey, dude. But a nice one.
