An early morning power outage is affecting customers in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, a utility spokeswoman said.
Approximately 1,300 homes and businesses near Second and Folsom streets were reportedly without power beginning at around 1:35 a.m., PG&E spokeswoman Brandi Ehlers said.
Preliminary reports blame an equipment failure in the area, possibly an underground transformer that malfunctioned.
Around 344 customers remained without power at 3:30 a.m., Ehlers said, and utility crews hoped to have the neighborhood’s power fully restored by 4 a.m.
