sfpd_squad.jpgA San Francisco police officer crashed a patrol car into a home in the city’s Sunset District on Saturday evening, but no one was injured, police said today.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the officer was responding to a call in the area and entered the intersection of 18th Avenue and Noriega Street at the same time that another vehicle was in the roadway, police spokesman Boaz Mariles said.

The officer attempted to avoid the vehicle, traveled over the curb and hit the garage of a home, Mariles said.

No one was injured but the garage was damaged, according to Mariles.

The crash remains under investigation.
