Two San Francisco teenagers were arrested Thursday after they allegedly assaulted and stabbed a third teen during a drug deal, according to police.
San Francisco residents Michael Polo, 19, and Konrad Berheim, 18, were arrested for conspiracy and possession for sales.
Polo was also booked into jail on attempted murder for allegedly stabbing the 19-year-old victim, who is a San Pablo resident.
On Thursday afternoon, Polo and Berheim met the victim on Mount Davidson for a drug deal, police spokesman Boaz Mariles said.
The transaction led to an altercation in which the suspects assaulted the victim, according to Mariles.
The victim ran away and realized he had been stabbed multiple times. At about 1:15 p.m. he reported the incident to emergency personnel, who responded to him at a school in the 900 block of Laguna Honda Boulevard.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and identified Polo and Berheim for police, who were also able to follow a blood trail from the school to the site of the assault.
Officers found witnesses and some of the victim’s property during the search, Mariles said.
Police went to the suspects’ home and waited for them to arrive, according to Mariles. They detained the suspects and obtained a search warrant for the home.
During the search, police found methamphetamines, cocaine and marijuana, Mariles said. Officers also seized about $7,000 in cash.
The evidence will be processed at a lab in San Mateo or Alameda counties because San Francisco’s lab was closed earlier this week after police found that a former civilian lab supervisor might have taken small amounts of powdered cocaine from the lab.
“We’re still doing good police work related to narcotics and still prosecuting narcotics cases,” Mariles said.
Polo and Berheim were booked into county jail for attempted homicide and robbery.
