If the Board of Supervisors City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee is discussing, at Supe Bevan Dufty’s request how to regulate food carts today, does this mean the whole food cart thing (I think Beth called them “tacos from a Toyota”) is over?

    Seems like it is more a question of establishing guidelines than anything else. The Ex reports that “Lind (cupcakes) admitted they never obtained a permit to sell their cupcakes in the Castro, but that was only because the permitting process was too onerous.” If there’s no issue with health and safety, the brick and mortar folks are probably upset they didn’t think of it first.
