A police pursuit that spanned from San Jose to San Francisco tonight ended in a crash and the arrest of the driver, but no one was injured, a California Highway Patrol sergeant said.

The incident began in San Jose when the driver failed to yield to Santa Clara County sheriff’s deputies, CHP Sgt. Ken Roberts said.

Multiple agencies joined the pursuit, including a CHP helicopter, as the driver led law enforcement officials north on U.S. Highway 101 through San Mateo County and up to San Francisco, according to Roberts.

The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed at Fell and Octavia streets in San Francisco, Roberts said.

The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of evading police.

No one was hurt.

Roberts said he didn’t know why the driver fled from authorities.
