Police in San Francisco are investigating an early morning shooting in the city’s Mission District.

Officers went to Mission and 22nd streets at around 12:50 a.m. on reports of shots fired, police said. The Police Department’s Shotspotter system also alerted officers to the shooting.

Arriving officers found one adult who was reportedly hit by gunfire.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

Information on possible suspects or arrests was not immediately available.
