There are over six million cab drivers in the world – and they lose over $5 billion in income annually due to downtime and inefficiency.

We know what you’re thinking: “Downtime, you say? Then how come I have SO much trouble getting a taxi in SF? It’s such a hassle and there’s so much uncertainty involved.”

The problem is that when you’re looking for a cab, there could be an empty one idling just around the corner – but you’d have no way to know that. And when you’re running late or you’re tired and you need a taxi now, you don’t want to spend twenty minutes looking for a ride. And if you live in the Richmond or the Sunset? Forget it!

…But everything changes when you use Cabulous.

Cabulous is a GPS-based smartphone application that makes it fast, easy, and even fun for passengers and taxi drivers to find each other. Currently available on the iPhone, Cabulous allows you to see empty cabs nearby on a map, hail one instantly with the touch of a button, and then visually track its progress on your Cabulous map.

Your hailed driver, in turn, is able to use their own smartphone’s Cabulous application to visually track your location as they come to pick you up – even if you decide to walk around the block or go look for coffee. And if your driver is on a crowded street and you still can’t find each other, you can call one another directly through Cabulous.

You can even add drivers to your “Favorites” list and spot them the next time they are driving nearby – a plus for drivers who want to build customer loyalty and appear as a recommended driver to other potential passengers.

To get Cabulous, search for us in the iPhone App Store or text CAB to 41411 for a link to the app. Cabulous will soon be available on Blackberry, Android, the web, and other platforms.
