Gas bills are expected to be generally lower this year due to falling prices for natural gas and lower customer usage, according to Pacific Gas And Electric Co.
PG&E bills in 2010 should reflect a decrease of about 9.2 percent for natural gas compared to bills at this time in 2009, according to figures released by the utility company on Monday.
The average customer whose January bill for natural gas would have been about $88.20 in 2009 can expect to pay around $62.28 for the same amount of usage in 2010, according to PG&E.
Small increases in charges for transmission, distribution and mandated social programs are expected to be offset by lower forecast usage and a decline in gas prices.
