A 37-year-old San Francisco man was sentenced Friday to 14 years in state prison for molesting five girls at a public swimming pool in 2007, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

Leroy Korney Vo was sentenced following his conviction in October for five felonies and six misdemeanors related to the molestations of the girls at the Rossi Pool in San Francisco, according to the district attorney’s office.

Vo was convicted on Oct. 17 on five counts of committing a lewd act upon a child under 14 years old, one misdemeanor count of battery, and five misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child under 18 years old, according to the district attorney’s office.

On July 30, 2007, two 18-year-old women went to the Rossi Pool, located at 600 Arguello Blvd. As one of the victims was swimming, she felt someone touch her back, but kept swimming. A few minutes later, the same person, Vo, grabbed her ankle, according to the district attorney’s office.

The victim told her friend, who said Vo had also touched her on her stomach. Neither girl immediately reported the incident.

A day later, four children, all 11 years old, went to the pool with their teacher.

As one of the victims was swimming, she felt someone briefly touch her on the vagina, but she continued to swim. She later felt the same person, Vo, touch her on the vagina again. When she looked over at Vo, he lowered his swimsuit to his thigh, according to the district attorney’s office.

Another girl testified that she was touched on the vagina as well by Vo as she stood in the pool. The girl’s cousin confirmed that he saw Vo touch the girl, and reported the incident to his teacher, who told authorities at the pool. Vo was told to stay away from the children, and left the pool.

Later the same evening, Vo returned to the pool and touched three other girls on the thigh area while they were swimming, according to the district attorney’s office.

One of the lifeguards, who had been made aware of the incident earlier in the day, saw Vo touch one of the girls, and called San Francisco police.

When police arrived, all three girls identified Vo as the man who had touched them. One of the 18-year-old women also happened to be at the pool as well and told the officers what had happened the previous day, and Vo was arrested.

He was sentenced Friday in San Francisco Superior Court by Judge Marla Miller.

“This sexual predator betrayed a community by preying on these young children,” District Attorney Kamala Harris said in a statement. “His shocking behavior warranted the maximum prison sentence permissible by law.”
