A 23-year-old man found dead Wednesday in a residential hotel in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood has been declared a homicide victim, police said today.
Miriah Qualls was found dead at the Golden Eagle Hotel at 402 Broadway, according to police spokeswoman Lt. Lyn Tomioka. A neighbor at the hotel last saw Qualls on Monday.
After an autopsy on Thursday, the medical examiner ruled the case a homicide, according to Tomioka. Cause of death was deemed blunt force trauma.
Qualls referred to himself as a woman, though the medical examiner has ruled him to be anatomically male, Tomioka said.
No arrests have been made.
The homicide is the 46th reported this year by San Francisco police.
