Famed US Airways pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger will speak at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco tonight about how he safely landed a disabled aircraft on the Hudson River in New York earlier this year.

The Danville resident became known worldwide after piloting US Airways flight No. 1549 safely into the river on Jan. 15, saving the lives of all 155 people on board.

In conversation with KGO TV’s Dan Ashley tonight, Sullenberger will discuss his work, priorities and challenges, and how he had prepared his entire life for “the miracle on the Hudson.”

The event, which is sold out, begins at 6 p.m. at the Club Office at 595 Market St.
