Fuck, you guys. I still need to buy part of a costume for tonight, plus my hair is in curlers (did I tell y’all, I’m being Nancy from Nightmare on Elm Street?), and I need to eat. So this roundup will be even crasser than usual, if that’s possible. But we’re gonna do it, then put up that 511 widget on our homepage so you can gaze upon it, then get outta here. OK? OK.

511: Current Status (as of 3:00 p.m., 10/30/09) “The Bay Bridge is closed in both directions until further notice. It will remain closed AT LEAST through Friday. Caltrans crews are working to reopen the Bay Bridge as quickly as possible, with a goal of reopening the span sometime this weekend.”

Tony Alfrey via Spots Unknown: The Famous Bay Bridge Crack This is a really really cool breakdown of how the hell we ended up here in the first place. Just go read it.

Curbed SF: Seriouser and Seriouser: The Bay Line, Condos on the Bay Bridge I think I already mentioned the NYT Berkeley J School’s post on this, “proposed retrofit of the Bay Bridge’s eastern span with a park and housing,” but I thought of another joke, and Curbed’s post is good, so there. Oh, the joke? Ready? Fuck no, I was raised Catholic! The last thing I need is to move somewhere where friction and vibration cause disasters! HAHAHA

ABC7: Bay Bridge likely closed through the weekend rolled in to Reader. Same story as before, with “The Bay Bridge will likely be closed through the weekend as Caltrans continues their work. ” at the beginning of the story.

KCBS: Bay Bridge Won’t Reopen for Friday Evening Commute “Repairs were delayed Friday after new rods were installed while crews waited for the delivery of more 2-inch steel plates to help further strengthen a steel saddle”

BART: BART customers break ridership record again “BART’s transbay ridership this morning is up 60% as compared with a normal Friday morning.”

SF Biz Times: Bay Bridge remains closed was “modified” at 3:55, but I feel like we all knew everything in this story at 6 this morning.

BayBridgeInfo: “BART will provide overnight service on Friday evening” WE KNOW.
