Update: “Alarms have been activated, occupants have evacuated the building and are currently in Civic Center Plaza. There will be added emergency vehicles in the area as well as the possibility of minor traffic delays on Polk Street between McAllister and Grove Streets. THIS IS ONLY A DRILL.” Says AlertSF. See, that’s why we said “avoid”!

No, it’s not a City Hall disaster, nor has Trauma filming taken over our gold leaved seat of government. According to AlertSF San Francisco City Hall’s going to be conducting an evacuation drill at 9:30 this morning. All tenants of City Hall are reportedly expected to assemble in Civic Center Plaza, and emergency vehicles will be “in the area to monitor the drill.”

No streets are expected to be closed for the drill, but it still seems like the area might be a total pain in the ass to get through at that time. Hence our suggestion to “avoid.”
