Pumped and primed for the news that BART would be on strike as of Monday, our friends at NBC Bay Area sent over this video from the last BART strike, in 1997.

For my part, the first day of the 1997 strike, my roommate and I were moving from the Mission to Fulton and Baker. The first day of the strike, we spent what felt like days on a bus to the Bayshore U-Haul storage place, where all our stuff was living. Then we had to drive all the way back up, in a U-Haul, in terrible traffic. It’s not like we could have taken BART to the U-Haul place, what, moved on BART, but I still remember it sucking, and not just because we had to carry all our shit up, like, three flights of stairs.

How about you? Tell us your memories of the last BART strike in the comments. Did it suck, or did you not even notice?
