5:13 AM: San Francisco firefighters controlled a large grass fire that burned for nearly an hour this morning in a city park in the Diamond Heights neighborhood, a fire department dispatcher said.

The fire was first reported at about 1:20 a.m. in Glen Canyon Park near O’Shaughnessy Boulevard and Bosworth Street, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The one-alarm fire burned mostly grass and brush in a western portion of the 60-acre urban park, in the proximity of San Francisco School of the Arts High School, according to the fire department.

The school’s buildings and any park structures in the area were not damaged or threatened in the fire, the dispatcher said, which was declared under control at 2:15 a.m.

No injuries have been reported.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.

2:16 AM: San Francisco firefighters are battling a one-alarm grass fire burning this morning in an urban park in the city’s Diamond Heights neighborhood, a fire department dispatcher said.

The fire was first reported at about 1:20 a.m. in Glen Canyon Park near O’Shaughnessy Boulevard and Bosworth Street, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The public space is comprised of approximately 60 acres of steep ravines, trails, creeks and rock outcroppings, according to the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department Web site.

Further information regarding acreage burned, possible injuries and what started the brush fire was not immediately available this morning, the dispatcher said.
