Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire this morning in an apartment building in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood, a dispatcher said.

Units responded to a fire reported in an apartment on Fulton Street just before 1 a.m., a dispatcher with the San Francisco Fire Department said.

One resident was taken to a hospital with injuries, the dispatcher said.

The fire was declared under control at about 1:20 a.m., and damage was reportedly contained to one top floor unit.

The cause remains under investigation.
