Update: 7/13: Police are searching for four male suspects in the fatal shooting of a teenage boy Friday night in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood.

The shooting took place around 11:20 p.m. near the intersection of McAllister and Webster streets, according to police.

Officers responded and found 17-year-old Xavier Gillette, and a 16-year-old boy who was with him, suffering from gunshot wounds, according police spokeswoman Sgt. Lyn Tomioka.

Gillette was pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital shortly after midnight, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The second victim is expected to survive, according to police.

Tomioka said police have only limited descriptions of the four suspects in the shooting, who were all wearing dark, hooded clothes and sped off in a stolen car.

Police chased the car, which according to Tomioka was stolen from another part of the city, about two blocks to the 800 block of McAllister Street, where the suspects ditched the vehicle and ran through a public housing area, she said.

“This is still a very active investigation,” said Tomioka.

She said neither of the victims had any known gang affiliation.

Update 7/12: San Francisco police are investigating a shooting in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood Saturday night that hospitalized two people.

The shooting was reported at about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hyde and Ellis streets, according to police.

Two people were shot, but both victims are expected to survive, police said.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information was immediately available, according to police.

Updated 7/11: A 17-year-old boy has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in San Francisco late Friday night, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of McAllister and Laguna streets around 11:20 p.m., police said.

Arriving officers and medical personnel found two victims shot.

Both were taken to an area hospital.

Xavier Gillette, 17, died at the hospital, the medical examiner’s office reported.

The other victim was listed in serious condition but is expected to survive, police said.

Suspect information was not available.
