In a new chapter of budgetary woe, a San Francisco civil grand jury has found that pensions for retired city workers could become an unsustainable financial burden.

Making matters worse, the grand jury raised concerns over “spiking” practices that inflate pensions for retired city workers.

On the other hand, city workers have taken pay cuts and furloughs resulting in $61.185 in budget savings, and elected officials salaries may be next.
