I applaud President Obama’s commitment to ensuring that stem cell research moves forward and advancing the search for cures to our world’s most challenging diseases. The President’s decision to reverse an eight-year ban on embryonic stem cell research will be of tremendous benefit not only to San Francisco, and California, but to the world as a whole. The San Francisco California Institute for Regenerative Medicine is the largest funder of human embryonic stem cell research, and a headquarters location for coordinating a global effort to advance stem cell research.
You guys all remember when Gavin Newsom got CIRM to move to town, right? That was the occasion for his own fist-bump picture, long before Barack and Michelle Obama made the move famous. Gavin Newsom, terrorist fist-jabber!
