policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man killed when a car ran over him as he slept in front of a garage in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Tuesday morning has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 55-year-old Elvis Presley.

The accident occurred around 7 a.m. in the 500 block of Third Street, which is between Bryant and Brannan.

Presley was struck by a car driven by a 28-year-old woman that was pulling out of the garage. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The woman stopped after striking Presley and cooperated with police, Esparza said.
