Bay Area New Year's DUI Arrests Down, Vehicle Fatalities Up
Bay Area DUI arrests were down but vehicle fatalities were up during this year's New Year's Eve targeted DUI enforcement period, the California Highway Patrol said.
Four fatal collisions occurred between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. today, up from no fatalities in the Bay Area last New Year's Eve.
The CHP also made 64 DUI-related arrests compared to 92 last year.
