samovar.jpgTwo people were hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into a building in San Francisco’s Mission Dolores neighborhood this afternoon, a fire official said.

The crash was reported at 4:17 p.m. at the intersection of 18th and Sanchez streets, according to the fire official.

According to Appeal reader Ron, “an SUV driver had a seizure while ascending Sanchez St hill. The SUV rolled down the hill, jumped the curb and ran into the (Samovar) tea bar. The driver and a patron were taken to the hospital.” KCBS is reporting that the SUV in question was a Mercedes

Five people were injured, but three declined treatment. The other two were transported to a local hospital, he said. ABC7 is reporting that, besides the driver (an adult female), the other hospitalized victim was “a woman who was sitting outside” when the SUV hit her, “pinning her to the wall. Rescue crews say she suffered a broken pelvis and fractured ribs.”

The building that the vehicle crashed into was evacuated because of concerns about its structural integrity, the fire official said.
