UPDATE: For your viewing pleasure, here’s the archived stream of Thursday’s Prop 8 arguments.

UPDATE: We’re told the calchannel livestream (that’s the embeddable one we’re using) has crashed due to the demand, so we suggest watching the arguments on SFGOV2. We’ll also embed the archived version here once it’s available.

The California Supreme Court hears arguments for and against overturning Proposition 8, the constitutional amendment passed four months ago eliminating the rights of same-sex couples to marry. Both houses of the state legislature, state Attorney General Jerry Brown, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, U.S. Senators Feinstein, Leno and Boxer, and congresswoman Nancy Pelosi have all denounced the law, which passed via voters with a narrow 2% margin. After the court hears the arguments — above — it has 90 days to issue a decision.
