I ragged on “The Walking Dead” last week, and I’m not taking that back; I still think this season blew, big time. But I’ll admit last night’s season finale was good, and I’m happy with what appears to be the direction next season will be taking. I have read most of the comics, and it looks like they’ll be following a plot line presented therein, with the introduction of at least one new (and completely badass) new character.
Now, I’m not one of those fans who thinks the comic is the end all and be all, because there’s a lot that happens in it that is almost as bad as this season has been. But at the end of the day, “The Walking Dead” is TV series I really want to like, and root for, and I’m looking forward to the fall premiere.

Speaking of the walking dead, “Dancing With the Stars” premieres tonight at 8 P.M. on ABC!
But seriously, you gotta admit, some of the “stars” that find their way to this show are the celebrity equivalent of the walking dead, (or dancing dead, as the case may be), with careers on life support, at best. But I will admit I went through a brief, completely unexplainable period where I actually did watch it weekly. And even voted!
I’m not going to let that horror happen again. But if you’re interested to see who’ll be dancing their lives away this season, the complete list is here.
Also returning tonight, or premiering, or something, is “Touch,” the new series starring Kiefer Sutherland. If it sounds familiar, and you thought this thing premiered months ago, you’re kind of right. But turns out that was merely a “sneak peek.” Silly me, I was under the impression it had been on the air this entire time, that’s how impressed I was by that first episode. Watch it again, for the first time, at 9 P.M. on Fox.
On Wednesday, March 21st, NBC premieres a sitcom it doesn’t seem to have much faith in, being that they’re airing two episodes a night for the next three weeks. “Bent” stars Amanda Peet as a single mom looking to get her kitchen remodeled, and David Walton is the wrong man for the job. I think it has potential, but it’s one of those cases where you wonder if you should invest the time if the show isn’t even going to make it past the first season. Maybe just think of it as a mini-series, and enjoy? 9 P.M. and 9:30 P.M. on NBC.
But really, all of the above is nothing but a way to kill the time until Sunday, March 25th, and the return, finally, of “Mad Men.” It’s been almost two–TWO!–years since the show last aired, and really, I don’t know how I’ve survived without it.
Per usual, AMC and show creator Matt Weiner are being maddeningly cagey with the details about this season, and even the previews only show footage from previous shows. I have nothing to tell you about what to expect, except for this: it’s gonna take place in the 60’s; Don Draper will be handsome; and the clothes are going to be a tad bit uglier. (The 70’s approacheth, y’all.) Watch the two hour premiere at 9 P.M. on AMC.
