Four Injured When Cable Car Collides With Rec And Parks Van

7:58 PM: Four people were injured this evening when a San Francisco Municipal Railway cable car collided with a city van near Washington and Mason streets, according to Muni spokesman Judson True.

The collision between the cable car and Recreation and Park Department van happened at about 5:15 p.m. Two passengers were taken to local hospitals and two others were treated at the scene, True said. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The crash temporarily affected cable car service on the Powell Street portion of the Powell-Mason and Powell-Hyde lines. Regular service has since been restored.
