Update: Bus Fire At SOMA Gas Station Extinguished

A bus that caught fire at a gas station in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood this afternoon has been extinguished, fire officials said.

The bus was reported on fire at 2:32 p.m. at the Chevron gas station at the intersection of Ninth and Howard streets, sending large black plumes of smoke into the air.

Fire crews responded and extinguished the blaze as of 2:57 p.m., fire officials said on Twitter.

No one was on the bus when it caught fire and no injuries were reported, according to the fire department.
