Victim Critically Injured In Drive-By Shooting Friday Night

A victim was critically injured when four men driving by opened fire as he was walking in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Friday night, police said today.

The shooting was reported at 11:52 p.m. in the 1600 block of Newcomb Avenue, according to police.

The victim was walking there when a white early 2000s Toyota Camry passed by and four suspects inside opened fire, police said.

The victim was struck multiple times. Police and paramedics responded and he was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Shots were fired only a few blocks away about two hours earlier that night, but no one was wounded by gunfire.

Police were flagged down near the corner of Quesada Avenue and Jennings Street at 9:50 p.m., police said. A witness saw two cars leaving the area, a black four-dour early 2000s Mercedes Benz and a light four-door sedan, police said.

No suspects have been arrested in either shooting.
