A pedestrian who was struck by a car in San Francisco’s Mission District on Friday night suffered head trauma and a broken arm, police said today.
The victim, a man in his 50s, apparently stepped out from between two parked vehicles into the path of a silver Toyota Corolla traveling in the 500 block of South Van Ness Avenue near 16th Street at about 9:25 p.m. Friday, according to police.
The front end of the Corolla struck him and the driver, a woman in her 40s, stopped the car and remained at the scene until medics and police arrived.
Police did not arrest the driver and are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
Medics transported the pedestrian to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
