Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Highway 101 Off-Ramp Identified

A pedestrian fatally struck while trying to walk up an off-ramp from U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco on Sunday night has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 24-year-old San Francisco resident Abisai May Dzul.

At 9:08 p.m. Sunday, California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a male pedestrian walking up the Alemany Boulevard off-ramp from northbound Highway 101, CHP officials said.

A short time later, officers received additional calls saying the pedestrian had been struck by at least one car and possibly a second, according to the CHP.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither of the cars that may have hit him stopped and CHP investigators are asking the public for help in finding them.

Anyone who may have information about the case is encouraged to contact Officer Hoey at the CHP’s San Francisco office by calling (415) 557-1094.
