Western Addition Man Shot at his Front Door During Robbery

A San Francisco man was shot at the front door of his Western Addition apartment during a robbery late Friday night, according to police.

The incident was reported in the 900 block of McAllister Street at 11:54 p.m. The victim, a 49-year-old man, heard a knock at the door and answered it.

“The suspects were there when he opened the door and basically forced their way into the apartment,” police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

“They forced him down to the ground demanding his money, property,” Esparza said. “When he stood up, that’s when he was shot.”

The two suspects fled the apartment with the victim’s wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Esparza. More information about the suspects was not immediately available.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, an injury not considered life-threatening, according to police.
