The group expertly mixes their own cultural influences with live instruments and beats du jour, making for a surprisingly multifaceted show in the face of button-pushers and apathy. They hit New Orleans’ own electronic music-centric festival Buku on Saturday so consider Friday’s gig at Mezzanine a bit of a warm-up, meaning shit will get weird in the best possible way.

What: Goldfish at Mezzanine
When: Friday, March 13th; show: 9pm
Where: Mezzanine: 444 Jessie St.

Saturday: Despite the name, COCKBLOCK has been delivering actual love connections and fun-filled evenings for nine whole years every second Saturday of the month and they’re celebrating appropriately with a blowout like no other. Those who’ve been with them from the beginning are most likely in their logo photo collage. Spot yourself among party-goers and get in for half off. Even if you don’t, $10 is still incredibly affordable by SF standards. DJ China G and Natalie Nuxx will be spinning tunes until the wee hours.

What: COCKBLOCK 9th anniversary party at the Rickshaw Stop
When: Saturday, March 14th; show: 9pm
Where: The Rickshaw Stop: 155 Fell St.
Cost: $10; purchase tickets at the door.

Be your own video game hero and cool down from all that dancing at Bottom of the Hill.

When: Sunday, March 15th; doors: 8:30pm, show: 9pm
