Auto Burglary Suspects Arrested Following Collision That Injured SFPD Officer

Two auto burglary suspects were arrested in San Francisco after they struck an undercover police vehicle and injured an officer while attempting to flee on Wednesday evening, police said today.

A red minivan rammed into an officer’s vehicle at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday on The Embarcadero near Pier 39, according to police.

A car chase ensued, followed by a foot pursuit, police said.

One suspect was taken into custody at Lombard Street and The Embarcadero and the other was later taken into custody in the city’s Bayview District, according to police. The suspects’ names were not immediately available this morning.

The officer was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
