You work hard. You should expect your elected officials to work hard as well. If, however, they don’t even show up to meetings, you would kick them out of office and vote in someone in who’s going to work their tail off for you.
Take BART Director Fang, for example. He’s only shown up to four entire BART Board meetings all year. Four out of 24! As you can imagine, this is the worst attendance record of any BART Director. To make matters worse, during one of the BART strikes last year, Fang was on an overseas junket, paid for in part by BART Contractors. Fang is so absent, he didn’t even know about the major redevelopment project going on at Balboa Park station. If there ever was an elected official missing in action, Fang is that person.
Maybe after 24 years in office, Republican Director Fang has lost that fire in his belly. Maybe he never even had it in the first place. But what I do know is that if he’s not showing up for me during his term in office, then I’m not showing up to vote for him on election day. This November 4th, join me in voting for change at BART.
