Woman Robs Richmond District Bank

A woman robbed a bank in San Francisco’s Richmond District on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The robbery was reported at the Wells Fargo at the corner of Geary and Arguello boulevards at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, an employee at the bank confirmed.

The woman handed a 41-year-old teller a note demanding money. The teller gave her an undisclosed amount of cash and she fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a black woman in her 30s or 40s. She was wearing a pink tank top, gray sweatpants, a green baseball hat and was carrying a gray purse, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Investigators are looking into whether the suspect might be responsible for other recent bank robberies as well.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
