BART Plans Weekend Closure of Daly City Platforms

Bart will close two platforms at the Daly City station on Saturday and Sunday for maintenance and improvement activities, Bart officials announced Thursday.

Bart will only use one track between the Balboa Park and Colma stations during the work.

Officials said the work will include replacing platform edge tiles, performing preventative maintenance on elevators and escalators, addressing issues with the tracks and trackside areas and maintenance work on public areas like stairwells.

During the work, Bart will only operate one service between the 24th Street station and the Daly City station.

On Saturday, the Blue Line and Green Line Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont trains that normally go to the Daly City station will stop at the 24th Street station.

Also on Saturday, there will be no Red Line service from Richmond to Daly City.

Officials said passengers traveling to San Francisco and beyond should board a Fremont-bound train and transfer at the MacArthur station.

Fremont trains will operate 12 minutes before and eight minutes after the scheduled times of the Richmond and San Francisco trains.

One train every 20 minutes on Saturday and two trains every 20 minutes on Sunday will provide service between Daly City and 24th Street.
