A group of suspects who allegedly refused to pull over led officers on a car chase through San Francisco’s Mission District early this morning, police said.
Officers were investigating a case around 1:15 a.m. when they tried to pull over a car believed to be connected with their investigation, police said.
The driver of the car, a black Ford Mustang, refused to stop and drove away from the officers, police said.
Police chased after the car, which also was carrying two passengers. The Mustang collided with some vehicles on Folsom Street, but continued on until hitting a fire hydrant at Cesar Chavez and York streets.
After crashing, the three suspects in the car, men ages 20, 23, and 24, had to be pulled from the car by San Francisco fire crews, according to police.
Two of the men suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening, while a third man was seriously injured, police said.
All three were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, police said. The trio was arrested but as of this afternoon police had not yet released the suspects’ names.
